Survey: Have you ever had to stand by idly and watch someone close to you self-destruct?

Yes, and it hurts me so badly too. I really wish I can help them, but I just don't know how and sometimes I don't want to make things worse than they already are. My heart really breaks as someone self-destructs and embroils himself in so much pain.
