How are deep cycle batteries rated?

Basically I am wanting to build a battery bank, problems is that I am not familiar with some of the terms. From what I have been able to find on my own is that most batteries are rated by either cold cranking amps or reserve capacity. I am trying to find a battery that will offer the most charge for the least amount of money. Can anyone help?
