I want to join the army, but I also want to have a normal life?

I'm currently a senior in high school. I have worked very hard and I want to go to a great college and get a doctorate in pharmacy. But I still want to be a part of something more. If I were to join the army reserve, could I still have a normal college life and a normal civilian career after college? I understand that I could be deployed if I'm needed and I'm willing to take that chance, but for the most part will I have a normal life?
