How difficult is it for an older prior service to join the Air Force Reserves?

I'm an older (35 yo) male, single/no kids, with a bachelors degree who served almost 9 yrs in the Navy and separated in 2003 with an honorable discharge as an E6. I would like to join the Air Force Reserves now. I understand I meet the age requirements but what is the likelihood of joining at the same rank of E6? Down the road, is it difficult to go active duty once you've been in the reserves awhile? Thanks in advance for any advice.
